Mr Walker has looked after elite and professional athletes across Scotland and has undertaken thousands of ligament reconstruction surgeries, developed rehabilitation protocols used around the world and trained other orthopaedic surgeons in complex sports injury procedures.

His practice is also busy with sports enthusiasts and recreational sports people and Mr Walker understands the importance of appropriate interventions to ensure that patients get back to sport as quickly and safely as possible

An arthritic knee can have a devastating effect on a patient’s ability to function due to pain, lack of mobility and even lack of sleep. Mr Walker has extensive experience in joint replacement surgery - both total knee replacements and unicompartmental knee replacements. For some younger patients with knee arthritic conditions, Mr Walker is highly qualified in osteotomy surgery, where realignment surgery can improve pain but preserve the bone and delay the need for joint replacement.

Patellar dislocations can be a recurrent problem for a number of patients, which can lead to episodes of acute pain and significant damage to the patellar joint surface.

Mr Walker has a specialist interest in surgery to stabilise the patello-femoral joint and prevent further episodes of dislocation.

Mr Walker’s experience in the treatment of patients with complex knee trauma is widely recognised and he is referred patients by other surgeons from hospitals throughout the West of Scotland.
